Very nice looking gun overall.i have added this information showing ser# as last year of sweet sixteen before they started marking as such in 1948, ) 1947 Post war Belgium made “X Prefix Series.” No serial number distinction between the Sweet 16 and the Standard 16 gauge A5. Stocks have light coat of added finish over handling marks & show light crazing. 26" solid rib with added adjustable Polychoke. Low serial in poor condition is not much help.īy contrast, this one is in great condition, fairly early model with a rare production attribute īROWNING SEMI AUTO SWEET SIXTEEN 1947 MFG C&R OK ()īROWNING SWEET SIXTEEN SEMI AUTO SHOTGUN. If you need more specific pics or info please let me know. Thank you for your time and any info you guys can give me. I'm hoping there is a browning guru who can help me establish a fare value for this shotgun, so I can sell or trade for something else. I used to collect WW1/WW2 surplus rifles and this is in way better shape then some of the best Garands and Springfields I've owned. I didn't want to do anything to discolor or alter the patina until I was certain of its value. The bolt handle prob has the worst wear, but I'm sure a little elbow grease could improve it. It has what I would call medium surface rust and some pitting. Mine is a 4 digit serial number "17XX" and everything looks to be original besides the added recoil pad. In my research on the internet the values and asking prices are all over the place, so I have no idea where mine stands. I have not had a chance to shoot the shotgun, but I bought some 16 gauge and it loads and cycles/ejects just fine. Hello fellow Calgunners! I need help getting a fair asking price/trade value range for my Browning (made in Belgium) A5 "sweet sixteen" model semi automatic shotgun.
